Core i7-8565U vs FX-8300 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the FX-8300 is faster than the Core i7-8565U. Despite this, the Core i7-8565U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8300 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8565U. The info from our database shows that the FX-8300 has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8565U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-8565U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
