Core i7-8565U vs FX-6300 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-8565U is faster than the FX-6300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6300 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-8565U has slightly more cores with 4 cores whereas the FX-6300 has 3 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-6300. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-6300 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8565U. Despite this, the Core i7-8565U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-8565U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-6300 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-6300 has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8565U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-8565U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
