Core i7-8086K vs Ryzen 9 9900X benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 9 9900X is faster than the Core i7-8086K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8086K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 9900X has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i7-8086K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-8086K. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 9900X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8086K. Also, the Ryzen 9 9900X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-8086K CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 9900X CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 9900X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8086K. The Ryzen 9 9900X also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-8086K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
