Core i7-7700T vs Core i3-N300 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-7700T performs better than the Core i3-N300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-N300 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i3-N300 has significantly more cores than the Core i7-7700T. Indeed, the Core i3-N300 has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i7-7700T. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-7700T has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-N300. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Core i3-N300 outputs less heat than Core i7-7700T thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i3-N300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-7700T. Despite this, the Core i7-7700T has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-N300.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-7700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
