Core i7-7700HQ vs Ryzen 5 4500 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 4500 is faster than the Core i7-7700HQ. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-7700HQ in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 5 4500 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i7-7700HQ has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-7700HQ. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 4500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-7700HQ. Also, the Ryzen 5 4500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-7700HQ CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 5 4500 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-7700HQ has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
