Core i7-7700 vs Xeon E3-1245 v5 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-7700 is faster than the Xeon E3-1245 v5. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E3-1245 v5 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-7700 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E3-1245 v5. Also, the Core i7-7700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-7700 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1245 v5 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-7700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
