Core i7-7700 vs Core i5-4670K benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-7700 beats the Core i5-4670K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-4670K in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-7700 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-7700 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-4670K. Also, the Core i7-7700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-7700 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-4670K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Core i7-7700 also has slightly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-7700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
