Core i7-7600U vs Core i5-3470 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-3470 beats the Core i7-7600U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-7600U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-3470 has significantly more cores than the Core i7-7600U. Indeed, the Core i5-3470 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i7-7600U. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-3470 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-7600U. Despite this, the Core i7-7600U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-7600U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-3470 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
