Core i7-6700K vs Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-6700K performs better than the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has significantly more cores than the Core i7-6700K. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i7-6700K. It also has more threads than the Core i7-6700K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-6700K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U outputs less heat than Core i7-6700K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-6700K. The Ryzen 5 PRO 7530U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-6700K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
