Core i7-6700K vs Core i5-13420H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-13420H performs better than the Core i7-6700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-6700K in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-13420H has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i7-6700K that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-6700K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-6700K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-13420H. Despite this, the Core i5-13420H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i5-13420H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-6700K. The Core i5-13420H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-6700K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
