Core i7-6500U vs A10-9600P specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-6500U beats the A10-9600P in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A10-9600P in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the A10-9600P has significantly more cores than the Core i7-6500U. Indeed, the A10-9600P has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i7-6500U. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-6500U has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the A10-9600P. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-6500U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
