Core i7-4770K vs Xeon E3-1270 v3 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E3-1270 v3 is faster than the Core i7-4770K. Despite this, the Core i7-4770K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-4770K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E3-1270 v3. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Xeon E3-1270 v3 outputs less heat than Core i7-4770K thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-4770K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
