Core i7-4770K vs FX-9590 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the FX-9590 performs better than the Core i7-4770K. Despite this, the Core i7-4770K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-9590 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-4770K. A Core i7-4770K CPU outputs less heat than a FX-9590 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-9590 has more L2 cache than the Core i7-4770K. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-4770K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
