Core i7-4770 vs Core i3-N300 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-4770 performs better than the Core i3-N300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-N300 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-N300 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i7-4770 that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-4770 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-N300. Also, the Core i7-4770 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-N300 outputs less heat than Core i7-4770 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-N300 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-4770. Despite this, the Core i7-4770 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-N300.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-4770 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
