Core i7-3770 vs Xeon E5-2620 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2620 beats the Core i7-3770 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-3770 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2620 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i7-3770 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-3770. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-3770 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2620. Also, the Core i7-3770 has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-3770 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2620 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-3770 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
