Core i7-3770 vs FX-8350 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the FX-8350 beats the Core i7-3770 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-3770 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-8350 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-3770. Also, the FX-8350 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-3770 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8350 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8350 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-3770. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-3770 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
