Core i7-3610QM vs Xeon E5-1620 v2 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-3610QM is faster than the Xeon E5-1620 v2. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-1620 v2 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-1620 v2 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-3610QM. Also, the Xeon E5-1620 v2 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-3610QM CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1620 v2 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-3610QM has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
