Core i7-14700T vs Xeon Gold 6230 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-14700T performs better than the Xeon Gold 6230. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon Gold 6230 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Xeon Gold 6230 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon Gold 6230 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-14700T. Despite this, the Core i7-14700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-14700T has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon Gold 6230. The Core i7-14700T also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-14700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
