Core i7-14700T vs Ryzen 7 5700 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 5700 beats the Core i7-14700T in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-14700T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-14700T has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 7 5700. Indeed, the Core i7-14700T has 20 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Ryzen 7 5700. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 5700. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-14700T. Despite this, the Core i7-14700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-14700T has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 5700. The Core i7-14700T also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-14700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
