Core i7-14700T vs Core i9-12950HX comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-14700T is faster than the Core i9-12950HX. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-12950HX in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-14700T has slightly more cores with 20 cores whereas the Core i9-12950HX has 16 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i9-12950HX. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i9-12950HX has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-14700T. Despite this, the Core i7-14700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-14700T has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i9-12950HX. The Core i7-14700T also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-14700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
