Intel Core i7-14700 vs Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX

Core i7-14700 vs Core Ultra 7 255HX benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core Ultra 7 255HX is faster than the Core i7-14700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-14700 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i7-14700 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core Ultra 7 255HX has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-14700. Despite this, the Core i7-14700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core Ultra 7 255HX has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i7-14700. Despite this, the Core i7-14700 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core Ultra 7 255HX.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-14700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
