Core i7-14700 vs Core Ultra 5 245K specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core Ultra 5 245K is faster than the Core i7-14700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-14700 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-14700 has many more cores with 20 cores whereas the Core Ultra 5 245K has 14 cores. It also has more threads than the Core Ultra 5 245K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core Ultra 5 245K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-14700. Despite this, the Core i7-14700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-14700 has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core Ultra 5 245K. The Core i7-14700 also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-14700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
