Core i7-14700 vs Core i5-14600K comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-14700 is faster than the Core i5-14600K. Despite this, the Core i5-14600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-14700 has many more cores with 20 cores whereas the Core i5-14600K has 14 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-14600K. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-14600K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-14700. Despite this, the Core i7-14700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-14700 has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i5-14600K. The Core i7-14700 also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-14700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
