Core i7-13700HX vs Core i7-14650HX specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-13700HX performs better than the Core i7-14650HX. Despite this, the Core i7-14650HX has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-14650HX has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-13700HX. Also, the Core i7-14650HX has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-14650HX has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-13700HX. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-13700HX has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
