Core i7-12800H vs Core i7-1270P benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-1270P performs better than the Core i7-12800H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-12800H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-12800H has slightly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Core i7-1270P has 12 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-1270P. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-12800H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1270P. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Core i7-1270P outputs less heat than Core i7-12800H thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1270P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-12800H. Despite this, the Core i7-12800H has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-1270P.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-12800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
