Core i7-12800H vs Core 7 240H comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core 7 240H beats the Core i7-12800H in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-12800H in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-12800H has slightly more cores than the Core 7 240H. Indeed, the Core i7-12800H has 14 cores compared to 10 cores found in the Core 7 240H. It also has more threads than the Core 7 240H. With our hardware info, we find that the Core 7 240H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-12800H. Also, the Core 7 240H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core 7 240H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-12800H. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-12800H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
