Core i7-12700T vs Ryzen 9 9900X benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 9 9900X is faster than the Core i7-12700T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-12700T in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 9 9900X has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 9900X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-12700T. Also, the Ryzen 9 9900X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-12700T CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 9900X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 9 9900X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-12700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
