Core i7-12700T vs Core i5-12600HX specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-12700T is faster than the Core i5-12600HX. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-12600HX in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i7-12700T has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-12600HX has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-12700T. Despite this, the Core i7-12700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-12700T CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-12600HX CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-12700T has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i5-12600HX. The Core i7-12700T also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-12700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
