Core i7-11700KF vs Ryzen 7 5700X specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-11700KF performs better than the Ryzen 7 5700X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5700X in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-11700KF has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 5700X. Also, the Core i7-11700KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 5700X outputs less heat than Core i7-11700KF thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-11700KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
