Core i7-11700KF vs Core i5-12450HX benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-11700KF is faster than the Core i5-12450HX. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-12450HX in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i7-11700KF has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-11700KF has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12450HX. Also, the Core i7-11700KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12450HX outputs less heat than Core i7-11700KF thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-12450HX has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-11700KF. Despite this, the Core i7-11700KF has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-12450HX.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-11700KF has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
