Core i7-11700K vs Ryzen 7 5800XT comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5800XT is faster than the Core i7-11700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-11700K in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 5800XT has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-11700K. Despite this, the Core i7-11700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 5800XT outputs less heat than Core i7-11700K thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 7 5800XT also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-11700K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
