Core i7-11700K vs Core i7-8086K benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-11700K is faster than the Core i7-8086K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8086K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-11700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i7-8086K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-8086K. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-8086K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-11700K. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Core i7-8086K outputs less heat than Core i7-11700K thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-11700K has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8086K. The Core i7-11700K also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-11700K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
