Core i7-11700F vs Ryzen 7 5700X benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-11700F beats the Ryzen 7 5700X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 5700X in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-11700F. Despite this, the Core i7-11700F has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-11700F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
