Core i7-11700F vs Core i7-14700T specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-14700T beats the Core i7-11700F in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-11700F in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-14700T has significantly more cores with 20 cores compared to the Core i7-11700F that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-11700F. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-11700F has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-14700T. Despite this, the Core i7-14700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-14700T has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-11700F. The Core i7-14700T also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-11700F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
