Core i7-11700 vs Core i7-13700H benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-13700H beats the Core i7-11700 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-11700 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-13700H has significantly more cores than the Core i7-11700. Indeed, the Core i7-13700H has 14 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Core i7-11700. It also has more threads than the Core i7-11700. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-11700 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-13700H. Despite this, the Core i7-13700H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-13700H has more L2 cache than the Core i7-11700. The Core i7-13700H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-11700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
