Core i7-11600H vs Xeon E5-2660 v4 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-11600H performs better than the Xeon E5-2660 v4. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2660 v4 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2660 v4 has significantly more cores with 14 cores compared to the Core i7-11600H that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-11600H. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-11600H has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2660 v4. Also, the Core i7-11600H has a significantly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-11600H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon E5-2660 v4. Despite this, the Xeon E5-2660 v4 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-11600H.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-11600H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
