Core i7-10870H vs Xeon E5-2660 v4 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-10870H is faster than the Xeon E5-2660 v4. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2660 v4 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2660 v4 has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Core i7-10870H has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-10870H. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-10870H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2660 v4. Also, the Core i7-10870H has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-10870H CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2660 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Xeon E5-2660 v4 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-10870H. The Xeon E5-2660 v4 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-10870H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
