Core i7-10700K vs Ryzen 5 8600G comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 8600G beats the Core i7-10700K in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-10700K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-10700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 8600G has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 8600G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 8600G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10700K. Despite this, the Core i7-10700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 8600G outputs less heat than Core i7-10700K thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 8600G has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-10700K. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-10700K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
