Core i7-10700F vs Xeon E5-2687W comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-10700F is faster than the Xeon E5-2687W. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2687W in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2687W has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10700F. Despite this, the Core i7-10700F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-10700F CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2687W CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Xeon E5-2687W also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-10700F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
