Core i7-10700F vs Ryzen 9 7900X benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 9 7900X beats the Core i7-10700F in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-10700F in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 7900X has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i7-10700F has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-10700F. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 7900X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-10700F. Also, the Ryzen 9 7900X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-10700F CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 7900X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 7900X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-10700F. The Ryzen 9 7900X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-10700F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
