Core i7-10700F vs Core i7-1270P comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-10700F beats the Core i7-1270P in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-1270P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1270P has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Core i7-10700F has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-10700F has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1270P. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Core i7-1270P outputs less heat than Core i7-10700F thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-1270P has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-10700F. The Core i7-1270P also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-10700F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
