Core i7-10700 vs Ryzen 5 5600GT specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 5600GT beats the Core i7-10700 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-10700 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-10700 has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 5600GT that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600GT. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 5600GT has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10700. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600GT has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-10700. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-10700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
