Core i7-1065G7 vs Xeon E5-1620 v2 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-1620 v2 is faster than the Core i7-1065G7. Despite this, the Core i7-1065G7 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1620 v2 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1065G7. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Core i7-1065G7 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1620 v2 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-1065G7 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
