Core i7-10610U vs Xeon E5-620 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-10610U beats the Xeon E5-620 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-620 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-620 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10610U. Despite this, the Core i7-10610U has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-10610U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-620 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-10610U has more L2 cache than the Xeon E5-620. The Core i7-10610U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-10610U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
