Core i7-10610U vs Xeon E3-1220 v5 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-10610U beats the Xeon E3-1220 v5 in overall performance. Despite this, the Xeon E3-1220 v5 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i7-10610U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E3-1220 v5 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10610U. Despite this, the Core i7-10610U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-10610U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E3-1220 v5 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches and L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-10610U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
