Core i7-10610U vs FX-8120 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-10610U beats the FX-8120 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8120 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-8120 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-10610U. A Core i7-10610U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8120 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-8120 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-10610U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-10610U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
