Core i5-9600K vs Xeon Silver 4210R comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon Silver 4210R performs better than the Core i5-9600K. Despite this, the Core i5-9600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon Silver 4210R has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i5-9600K that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-9600K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon Silver 4210R. Also, the Core i5-9600K has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-9600K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon Silver 4210R CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-9600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
