Core i5-9600K vs Ryzen 7 7800X3D benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D performs better than the Core i5-9600K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-9600K in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has slightly more cores than the Core i5-9600K. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-9600K. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9600K. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-9600K. Also, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-9600K CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-9600K. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones.
