Core i5-9600K vs FX-8350 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-9600K is faster than the FX-8350. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8350 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-9600K has significantly more cores than the FX-8350. Indeed, the Core i5-9600K has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the FX-8350. Despite this, the FX-8350 has more threads than the Core i5-9600K. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-8350 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-9600K. Despite this, the Core i5-9600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-9600K CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8350 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8350 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-9600K. Despite this, the Core i5-9600K has slightly more L3 cache compared to the FX-8350.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-9600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
