Core i5-9600K vs Core i7-8086K specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-8086K beats the Core i5-9600K in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-9600K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i7-8086K has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-8086K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-9600K. Also, the Core i7-8086K has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-8086K also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-9600K has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
